I had the esteem privilege of photographing Andrea Harbison Beauty's Launch Party for her new line of mink lashes and hair extensions. Beautiful products by an extremely talented educator. Anyways at the event I had a photo booth for a short while and it got me thinking about the wide range of photo booths and the difference between a selfie booth and a photographer. My booth was me with my camera, a basic light setup on a simple background. No denying full res images are better than thumb prints, but no instant gratification. What's more important, quality or the right now? Have we become a now nation? Does it even matter? I guess my answer is no, while I obviously value quality, attention to detail, and a full portrait session, these quick snaps in a split second can be just as meaningful. Documenting the magic of the night, friends and family coming together, achievements reached, or just plain silliness. These moments hold value and deserve to shine. What are your thoughts?
